Why Are Gas Prices So Hign and What Can You Do?
The justification is open for debate, but The USA has declined to produce and refine more oil. It is senseless for most Americans to feel this pain every time they go to fill up. Yes, everyone understands that there will be environmental consequences for oil drilling and new refineries. But the impact to the ""white snow polliwog must be proportional with the cost to our economy. It is disgraceful for our country to have the ability to reduce foreign oil dependence and opt to do nothing. What can you do about high gas prices? Call every politician you can find a phone number for. Make them explain exactly why gas prices are so high. Ask them why America hasn't constructed a new refinery in 30 years. Ask them why they don't support drilling in ANWR. Other than drilling for oil in your yard, this is the only thing you can do to affect supply. So, why are gas prices so high? You can do something all by yourself to change demand. However, if you want a change, you'll have to change. There was a time not so long ago that driving an automobile required more than just starting it up and driving. You didn't have cruise. You had to change your own flat. You had to adjust the choke for instance. You had to check your oil weekly. What does this have to do with high gas prices? You need to be prepared for the price of saving up to 80% on your fuel costs. Eventually auto manufacturers will develop alternative powered vehicles when they decide to. You can wait, and continue paying $3.50 a gallon for gas, or you can do something else NOW. Alternative energy is not new. The world has been using power from nature since time began. Think sailboat, water mill, wind mill, hot springs, wood, whale blubber, oil, horses, oxen, and fire. As a means of transportation these all are not the best alternative, especially when you already own a car. There is a device you can build from everyday materials for under $60 that will get better gas mileage. It will burn hydrogen gas obtained from water, on on demand. It then mixes the hydrogen with gasoline in your cylinder where it is safely ignited, resulting in more efficient use of gas. Using simple tools to make the contraption it will take you a few hours to complete, and less than an hour to install. Here is the issue you will have to maintain it, which could take an entire half hour per month. Is six hours per year a fair trade for half off gas? Why are gas prices so high? They don't have to be.
