The city of Columbus is known as the largest city in Ohio; not to mention that it is the capital of the state as well. The city has 712,000 inhabitants living in its boundary. It has got an extremely altering climate, mostly dominated by humid continental type of weather. However, the city faces drought, tornadoes, blizzards and floods in frequent intervals.

Columbus is quite rich in art and culture. There are many things to do downtown. With movies, theaters, shopping and sports, the city truly is a happening area. As a tourist or as an inhabitant, you will enjoy every second of your stay in Columbus, Ohio because life here is all equipped with primary and secondary amenities. Schools, colleges and universities; financial services, physicians; library, museums and theatre; sports, parks and churches – you name it; the city of Columbus has it.

Downtown of Columbus is all about shopping, services, entertainment, art and culture. Even when it comes to banks or drugstore, clothing or hardware, home furnishing, health clubs or departmental stores, downtown is the place one should look into.

The splendid theatre “The Ohio Theatre” is also located downtown Columbus, which is a wonderful auditorium with elaborate Spanish/Baroque decorations. The place is a popular point for concerts, ballet, plays, movies, and graduations ceremonies.

Rural Ohio however is not at all negligible than urban area or the downtown as the rivers Scioto and Olentangy shapes out the west. A day out by the riverside is refreshing like anything.

Columbus is known to be a complete art city. It is quite affluent with numerous museums all around. The state fair, arts festival, annual summer event for Rib and Jazz, the “Rose festival” featuring 13 acres of blooming roses, the “Oktoberfest” for celebrating German food, music and culture are other inseparable parts of Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, there are carnivals to attend which are as colorful as it should get.

One can visit the main library, metro parks or even hit the shopping malls in case she / he run out of things to do in Columbus. Additionally, Columbus is widely famed for its collection at the zoos and the aquariums.

Food in Columbus is great. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Bob Evans Restaurants, Max & Erma's are among the best places to dine out. There are plenty of fast food shops too. Charley's Grilled Subs, Steak Escape, Damon's Grill, Donatos Pizza and White Castle proved themselves to be the best in the city.

Overall, the city of Columbus is the best place to settle down, to have fun or to earn a living.
