Air conditioning also allows buildings to be taller since wind speed increases significantly with altitude making natural ventilation impractical for very tall buildings. Air conditioning technology evolved from this, to be applied in the regulation of temperature in rooms and buildings. <br /><br />The benefits of air conditioning<br /><br />Air conditioning can have a positive effect on sufferers of allergies and asthma. Air conditioning has no greater influence on health than heating—that is to say, very little—although poorly maintained air-conditioning systems (especially large, centralized systems) can occasionally promote the growth and spread of micro organisms, such as Legionella pneumophila, the infectious agent responsible for Legionnaire's disease, or thermophilic actinomycetes. <br /><br />Air conditioning is one of those amenities that's easy to take for granted if you have it, and-on a hot, humid summer afternoon-easy to covet if you don't as air conditioning takes indoor heat and pushes it outdoors. <br /><br />Air conditioning is not only used today to make our homes and other buildings more comfortable.
