HIV Symptoms: How To Diagnose Them?
HIV has become a great concern for people worldwide that fear its infection, as there is no proven medical cure till date found for its disease. Human Immuno-deficiency Virus, which is better known as HIV is one of the deadliest diseases, which an individual can acquire during any point of their lives. It is believed that HIV has no proven medical cure and most of the cases of people who are infected with HIV end up being patients of AIDS and thus, meeting an agonizing death within a short period of time. It can be very hard to comprehend and find out if a person is actually suffering from HIV in case the infection is still at nascent stages. In fact, it may even take a period of up to six months before any significant results can surface themselves. Most of the early symptoms of HIV are generally the ones, which bear close resemblance to flu-like symptoms. Hence a large number of people tend to ignore them, thinking that it is a simple fever which will get over with the help of few medications. It must be noted that not all individuals, who suffer from HIV may have similar symptoms. In fact, the symptoms for HIV can vary depending upon the physical health of the patient and the stage of illness in which they currently are. People need to understand that not all the symptoms of HIV need to be at the physical level. There could be some emotional and psychological disorders too, which could prove to be the telltale signs of HIV. Some of these include: • Depression is one of the main and earliest symptoms of HIV. Though depression is a common disease which a large percentage of people may be suffering from, prolonged depression for a considerable period of time needs to be checked for. • Another symptom which seems normal but can prove to be life threatening is diarrhea. Diarrhea can even prove to be fatal, if it is not properly treated. Though diarrhea may seem like a case of bad stomach, people who frequently fall ill with diarrhea could be suffering from HIV. • Almost every individual is familiar with the bad smelling accumulation of saliva in their mouths every morning. But a session of thorough brushing could help an individual to get rid of that smell easily. However people find it difficult to get rid of the yucky, bad-smelling white formation from their mouth even after rigorous session of brushing their teeth and flossing it up could be suffering from thrush. Thrush is one of the most important symptoms of HIV and a person should seek instant medical help in such a case. • Fatigue/vomiting and feelings of nausea are yet some of the symptoms which concern a person who is supposedly suffering from HIV. • People, who may experience rapid weight loss, especially when they have intentionally not tried to do so, must seek immediate medical help. Contraction of HIV virus may cause a person to lose weight and thus, more weak and prone to diseases. • Another important symptom of HIV is sinus infections, which call for urgent medical counseling.
