In whatever business you are in, competition will always be present, and unless you offer something that is especially unique to the market, you will have to go that extra mile to get yourself on top of every client’s list. How do you put yourself ahead of your competitors? It doesn’t have to be that difficult; it can be very simple, in fact.

The key to generate and increase your client base is service. Providing good service is a simple yet an effective way to get clients to come your way. A lot of people do not even mind so much if you charge a little bit more than your other competitors if you provide them good service. That means that you should get back to your clients. Being a small business is no excuse for you not to be able to respond to your clients question and concerns in a timely manner, there are many ways you can get in touch and stay in touch with your clients at a decent time frame. Good service plays a big part in the success of any business, so be sure to give that aspect more attention.

Be more accommodating and more flexible to what your clients want than other competitors. Clients would want to feel that you are doing what you can to help them. Give them your personal attention. You can certainly afford to do so, since you have a smaller client base than your competitors who have been in the business longer than you have, and there is a benefit to that, which is that you can concentrate on each of your clients more often.

Try not to expect too much on what you can get from your client. Offer your sincere help to your clients. Give them your advice and your guidance. Don’t always charge extra for every little thing that you do for your client. Yes, you are giving a little more effort than is required of you, but the returns are greater if you do. Your clients will be grateful, and they will certainly remember you for your help.
